There is a high learning curve with this machine (if you want to do more than the most basic of functions). I really don't care for the little door that opens at the bottom to access more buttons - I just know that thing will break off some day. This not only plays everything I tried, a disc I burned on this actually plays flawlessly on my old player! Once you get the hang of it, it is easy to edit out commercials, create chapter names and thumbnails, which makes for a great DVD or playlist for hard disk viewing.Ĭons: Yes, the remote is awkward to use, but eventually you figure it out. My old DVD player would not play anything I burned myself, no matter what brand of discs I used. It does everything I hoped it would do and more! Recording quality is great. Pros: True, I've only had it 4 days so far and haven't tried out every function yet, but I love this thing.
